Local drivers are home everyday and typically have to touch freight 95% of the time. Over the road drivers are typically away from home 3 to 12 weeks at a time, but 95% of the time freight is no touch.
Reefer driver typically hauls produce and frozen food product, with a temperature control unit that keeps the product cooled or frozen in transport.
Car hauler drivers transport cars, trucks, or motorcycles on a special trailer made to transport autos. Typically, multiple vehicles are transported at once and drivers could be local or OTR.
Dry van drivers are responsible for moving consumer goods in a dry box trailer and can be local or OTR drivers.
Tanker drivers move various things in the tank of the trailer. Drivers can have hazardous material or food grade product.
Flatbed drivers move product on a open bed trailer and may be local or OTR drivers. Drivers will need to know how to secure loads for transport and safety purposes.
How percentage pay works. Driver gets a percent of the revenue of the truck minus the fuel and expense.
How mileage pay works is a driver is paid per mile on the miles he or she drives with a load.
How load pay works is there is a set pay for each load you move and you just move as many loads as you can everyday.
How daily pay works is there is a set rate per day for any work in that day. you get the same everyday reguardless of how many hours you work.

How hourly works is that you will get paid hourly for everything you do.
